1_PREAMBLE

Let’s see, first I will need at least one trillion pages to write a brief story about the evolution of the Universe to us, and a lifetime to research it. Nah, I will not live that long, and I could not handle the paperwork.

So, what happened? Did we just arrive here as a result of some plan? Was there no plan? Was there some kind of catalyst to give something a kick-start? Our earliest ‘us’ would not have had the ability to even ask these questions. No idea. It literally would be ‘super natural’, from modern perspective maybe? Duh?

Would we even have the capability, to understand how we exist, at any place, or any time, throughout our long existence? No! We saw a big ball of fire in the sky that seemed to come every day to warm us and light the world for us. We noticed that the heavens themselves did not move, but there were ‘wanders’,(planets) and other mysterious things, eclipses, comets, storms, earthquakes, floods, etc.

This would be a lot for proto humans to make sense of. Could all knowledge of our long history be assembled in one place? Nah, but some people would say Yah. Maybe all knowledge does exist somehow. Where could this story go?

This seems to me, trying to determine specific historical issues within long time spans more than a few ancestors back, might be next to impossible for finite individuals with a finite ability and life span. I challenge any one to find your ancestor back a few generations back no matter what ancestor apps say. There are several issues. :

While historians have recorded many recordable events, it is up to forensic evidence to record events before that. Cosmology, astronomy, archaeology, astrophysics, and other scientists have progressively developed technologies for finding, recording, measuring, dating, testing, analysing, comparing and preserving biological and physical characteristics.

There have been hundreds possibly many more, attempts to explain how the Universe, and we came about. Looking up, we would see everything going, ‘around us’. We are in the middle of everything going around us. Essentially the center of our existence. It would be difficult for us and our ancestors to explain and the simplest answer would have to do. Anything that was out of our ability to explain would be attributed to ‘magic’ or ‘supernatural’.

This created a mindset of supernatural creation stories by us to explain events with supernatural creatures and events, and no one could prove them wrong.

The Torah, Koran, and the New Testament copied and recorded all of their narratives about a 6 Earth-day creation event, talking snakes, and donkeys, resurrections, seas parting, staffs becoming snakes, to snakes becoming legless and, evil, to evil inducing violence, to violence, to pain, suffering, torture and death from previous delusional humans. It is amazing how humans continue to chase ancient people’s ideas of reality. Is it tradition? Tradition being the cultural expressions of ancient peoples who are long dead, and numerous other miraculous events. A multitude of other beliefs, over as much as thousands of years, developed their own creation stories. Some are similar, some are really wild.

Every culture on earth has had millennia, to create their own creation story. These cultures were like you and me, they started to ask questions and they made up answers. I want to introduce you to a different view that has recorded physical evidence to back it up.

2_NATURE OF REALITY

There are peer reviewed and retested scientific ‘codes’ that try to define the nature of our reality. These codes are known and they are exemplified through mathematics. For example the numbers 1, and 2 etc are the start of quantifying things, events, times etc. They show the reality of Nature.

The invention of Zero was a frightening change and it led to the demise of the Islamic dominance in science. Zero was misunderstood by them as they declared that Zero was the work of the devil. Until this time, about the 11th century CE, Islamic scholars ruled the scientific world. They excelled at mathematics, and produced many notable philosophers and scientists. Just think, over half of the stars in our night sky have Arabic names.

Physics were constructed to determine, how mathematics behave in motion. All physics are based on and subject to testing and testing by challenged and unchallenged scientific theory and laws. Theory involves the process of determining a hypothesis or idea that can be tested, over and over again. If at any point, it fails a test, it is finished over, kaput! No more theory. Except, in some minds. A law is one irrefutable tenet of how nature works and that the universe and things including us would not exist without. The actions of mathematics through physics, explains the Universe’s long Evolution, and the reality of Nature..

Neither you nor I have any personal knowledge, or face-to-face experiences, of any of these events. The enclosed content could be viewed as produced by natural scientific opinions or views, and I freely admit using them as primary sources, and even as follow up references of study for you.

One characteristic of a human being is being human and to have many Bias’s. Do I? Yes I do, as I want to think about my opinions, I will be using that to express my opinions, pruning it with short naps and fast bursts of incentive. I want to produce a verbal and somewhat visual perspective of the scientific version of, ‘The Greatest Story Ever Told’.

3_SOMETHING FROM NOTHING

This is one of the toughest, so let’s go after it first. The historical hypotheses about our Universe include:
Always was, is and always will exist. This was called ‘The Steady State Theory’. Meaning there were no changes. This has since been agreed by scientists to be impossible. Everything would have to stop moving.

The Cycle Universe. Eventually the Universe will be pulled back and it will collapse into its starting state and re-bounce again endlessly. Possible, but requires a new understanding of current Physics and a means of slowing the Universe’s increasing expansion.

C There are numerous other philosophical, religious, cultural, and scientific proposals.
D The Universe has a beginning and an end. This can conform to current physics and is probable.
E The universe was created out of nothing. This is the opinion of religion and science, except science has an explanation for how that happened. Not why.

4_EMERGENT PROPS

You could assume that there was something before our Universe, but that requires revelations that have not been found as of yet, and may be forever beyond our ability to find out.

I will refer to any new properties created by the Universe’s evolution as ‘emergent’ properties’. Emergent properties are those new properties that emerge through the interactions of particles, energies, charges, fields and circumstances. eg. Iron and nickel = steel, Biology and fire = heat and light, Hydrogen and oxygen = water, Mind and think = idea.

Let us assume there is nothing to start. Is the human mind capable of imagining ‘nothing’? We can create a vacuum, but not a nothing. No contained vacuum can prevent light going through, or any energy fields or virtual particles from existing inside.

Quantum Field Theory is filled with virtual particles. These electron particles appear and disappear in fractions of seconds in a vacuum, obliterating each other each time. Something from nothing? It is Matter vs Antimatter. = Annihilation. Particles and antiparticles appear in and out of existence all the time.

Nothing or no thing is the complete absence of anything as the opposite of something or some-thing. Therefore how can one even talk about nothing, when its very name is inconceivable.

The early Greeks, including Aristotle, argued it was impossible for nothing to exist. Descartes argued against the existence of totally empty space.

OK, Let us get started. I feel the best way to start is for you to imagine you are outside these events, but can see them happening, even internally.

Why am I here?

Science tries to find the how of things, through analysis of potential hypotheses, logic, reason, collaborating evidence, and rigorous attempts to disprove it. If its not true, nothing around you works.

Philosophy and religion try to find the why of things assuming there are agents creating a why. If it is true, we are reading the minds of these agents.

We understand how lightning works and can even create it. We know there is no why agent that caused it. No Thor, no Zuez, no Sol Invicta, no Ra or Horus. No purposeful agent. Why does there need to be a why? It is like asking where the universe started. We can only determine the process of understanding.
