1_THE RECAP
BOY would still waken several times a night to poke the fire, and keep the flames alive.
They had learned of life’s rhythm, and the chorus therefrom. They set their deck at 10 passes and made a daily diary in stone. They made baskets and had a few minutes of play. BOY made a hardwood knife. They brought stumps back to the cave and chopped and burned holes in them. They were able to transport water with gourds to the burned out storage stumps. They boiled the waters by throwing hot rocks into the hole and splashing them over themselves. They also boiled tubers in the waters. BOY made a sled to transport stores and supplies. All looked good.
There was a howling sound coming from the distance. I could hear several howls that night. The howls seemed closer and familiar. When AMI rose, BOY told her about the sounds and they wondered, could the howls in the substance world be friendly? Here they were dangerous predators and they must live by eating meat. Then they stoked and fed the fires.
I felt in myself they were dreaming. They dreamed together that they would make a safe sanctuary ready by the time of first child. They did all their sessions and ate. They made hot water for fiber-tea in their sand-leaf bowls, and for to clean. Always close, always touching each other.
The small dark winged creatures were asleep in the far ends of the cave. They always emerged to hunt their donors and succulents in the dark. Then they would return before Horus rose. The dark creatures knew the timing for when it was dark and when to return. They would chirp and chatter and then settle into sleep. They called these creatures ‘Hang’ because they hung upside down near the back roof of the cave when they slept.
Then they cleared the rocks from their bed and put them back in the fire, to reheat for the next dark.
Oink was always near, but was growing comfortable to sleep by herself. She liked to mosey all over and root around near the safety of the cave, also to roam with BOY over the near fields for edibles. Coo often watched over from treetops. Coo would sometimes land on Oink’s back and ride around with her.
2_THE SHADOW
As they looked at the stick’s shadow, AMI said,
See. The tip of the stick’s long shadow has moved a little away from the mark of the last pass. Each pass the tip has moved a tiny little toward the back. Horus is moving away to the front and without its heat we will need help. Horus’s power will become weaker each passing deck. We must prepare now.
BOY responded,
If we look at the far front mountain where Big-light will reach for, we can measure the angles for where the shadow will be. Each shadow will lengthen in turn. As I look at it now, the shadows will show we have 2 to 4 decks before crops will be hard to finish, and we will need warmth for our bodies and our heads most of all.

Then they stood near the ledge and watched Horus as it poured its magnificent light into their world. AMI smiled to BOY and he said:
This pass will make another mark on the wall. This will be the five pass. We should call this pass ‘Horus’.
Each Pass was another day. They had now named the first five passes. I felt there would be five more passes to make a deck, then, I thought Brave-pass would start again.
Then they turned to the rising Horus, that lit all of their world, warmed them and provided the power for life to exist.
BOY stated,
We must know each pass of Horus until ten passes make the deck. We can name each pass to plan all deeds with the placement of the skies sparks.
They had named the first five passes of the deck of 10 days, and there were about 50 partitions to each of their days. This was in daylight and a warm part of their year. Horus was rising and their world was waiting.
3_THE THANKS
What wonders await them, I could hardly imagine. There was much hard work to do. First they would need to plant the crops to get their first harvest in, and they needed clothing to survive the cooler weather. They survived a few passes without many things, but the inevitable cold weather and lack of food could spell disaster for their mission.
Before they carried on with their tasks they stood before Horus. I sensed they could feel the warmth on their closed eyelids. AMI raised her arms high and spoke to the universe with her eyes closed.
AZ, We hold thanks for ye codes we have received. Ye vision of harmony shall guide us to where we must go. We will use ye Wisdom-of-Vision in our use of the Codes to survive.
BOY said to AMI,
Let us warble loud of our great blessings that the Codes have bestowed upon us. Let us sing of Horus, the light that warms our Vision.
They appeared to beam as they stepped into the brisk morning light. The fields sparkled and glistened as the light reflected off the morning dew throughout the wakening fields.
BOY drew his ever present knife from his sash and placed it to the ground. He then took the sash from his waist and tossed it over the knife. They stood side-by-side walking forward to near the end of the ledge. They wore no cover. They stood majestically in the morning light.
They breathed deeply of the fresh air around them. I sensed Horus was warming their bodies and their thoughts stirring to the day.
If ever I could have imagined a sight so rare, this, would rival any I have seen or known of. There was no more definitive picture of harmony. The best hope for all the peoples who seek harmony.
My awe was in awe of the wonders I’ve seen. Here two magnificent beings stood naked as they were created by the Energy and Codes. There was nothing more natural. All around them was all natural. The plants, the animals, the air, the waters, the lands all emerged through the codes. It was quiet, as a few morning sounds started to waken. AMI’s sweet voice warbled out:
Horus bright, how clear the sight.
Ye light uncovers the dark.
Ye codes show to seek ye light.
Ye light will lead the seekers, past the night.
Vision shows our path to stay,
And Wisdom lights our way.
Horus bright, how dearly I voice,
to ye Vision of harmony, not fear.
Ye light will lead us home.
BOY then sang as she did:
Ye Vision is promising right to us,
Ye Wisdom that leads all means.
Ye Vision will be security, life,
and beyond life dreams.
Yes, when diminishes are done and over,
and this living life be gone,
We shall have Ye Vision to recover,
and enter harmony, ever on.
The Turf may gone forever more,
Horus may fail to shine,
Ye vision leads us to the shore of our design.
Now AMI stepped in and they both voiced away:
No forward-time in Harmony, no body to rot away.
Each pass from rise to rise shows eternal in every way.
They looked at each other and smiled. They were in the late rise partition of the Horus-pass. They washed in the hot waters of the Mess.
4_THE WILLS
I then saw them walking back to sit and talking of what they must do. BOY said:
We have supplies and stores for now, but we will deplete. We must be more secure and plant our seeds.
If you ha will to prepare the seeds, from our garden in harmony. They will be ready to plant. Vibrant, dry, size and strength.
I will mark out the nearest fertile soil mound just a quick walk away. There is a fig tree near the middle of the nearest. It is just before that marshy drop beyond. The marshy drop will provide water for our seeds, by cuts in the garden. I will make ready the soil for our seeds to grow. We will plant where Horus shines most.
The seeds and a little food were the only things they brought with them from the garden. Some of their friend creatures were found. They wondered if others made it through. He said:
I will further secure our home by casting the rocks on our wall within layers of damp clay from the falling waters to the back. I will mix the clay with the dry grasses to form a hard joiner. The clay will harden by Horus and secure our wall. I will continue to make defences and improve on them. These are the things I will do.
AMI then said;
I will make flat forms from the best plants available. I will weave those that can be.
I will take plant fibers and form them such that I can make a flat surface to their form, and join the flat surfaces together. With the flat surfaces, and the wide reeds, and the cords, I can make warm body covers.
I will make a head lid first. I will make a warm lid that drains the waters away, and to cover our eyes from Horus.
I will make a protective cloak by joining two large sides neck to knees high with the cords. I will leave the bottom open to walk around freely. I will leave an opening on the top large enough to fit our head through. I will leave 2 openings at the top ends of the sides to put our arms through. Then our heads and our arms can fit through and the cloak will hang comfortably over our shoulders. The cloak will provide warmth and keep the waters away. I can join arms to the cloak when the weathers are cooler. Then I will prepare warm foot covers with a strong woven bottom and make a warm woven cover for when we are sleeping.
BOY smiled that magical smile. The one that made AMI giggle, and made her take short sharp breaths.
He came to her and ran his fingers through her appearing hair and said:
We will make many great memories of our journey through forward-time. Visions we will have forever.
This seemed hopeful. As I looked over the fields, plants were plentiful in variety but not a lot of one type except in the forests. Beyond the few small berry plants there were some short plants in bloom. Their blooms were white and fluffy, but not many of them. There were also some tall reedy looking plants near the creek from the far hillside. Ami continued;
I will gather foods of any sorts and store them covered in the dry cool part of the cave. I will keep the wood pits we have made full of waters and gather a long supply of firewood. These are the things I will do.
5_THE FIBER
As AMI was considering her choices she asked BOY what he thought.
We know of certain plant parts that can be made into flat form. There are a few plants in the fields that have grown soft white balls of fluff and they could be made into body covers. These plants are few and spread out and it would be hard to make form. The Codes show we would need a lot of the fluff to make even a small piece of flat form and they would need a lot of water to form.
There are also plants that grow tight together and have strong leaves and stems and they would be easier to make into flat form and maybe stronger. They can be prepared in the field and brought back to form.
BOY said;
There are also more of them and they are already of seed. This is the best time to harvest for the long, strong strands and other health qualities, then replant the dark seeds.
AMI, these are exactly the plants I must get. I will harvest all the seeds from within the clusters fruiting at the top. I will keep the darkest for the planting and the rest for food and to make oil for many uses. I will keep the tight glistening flowers for the pain relief.
I will cut all the plants high enough for them to recover, then I can re-harvest them again later as they regrow.
I will prepare the cut stalks to hasten entropy’s breakdown. I will turn the stalks evenly within a wet trench. We will have the strands in one to two decks. Then I will bring back the long strands to make flat form.
Then you can make flat form within a deck or two and have a source for later. These plants we should call ‘fiber’.
AMI looked at him and said:
Thank you BOY. You are my fiber. You have given everything to my end. I will stand always by your side. My love has no ends, no thens, just always. Call them fiber, they are the strongest of plants.
BOY smiled that magical smile. The one that made AMI giggle, and made her take short sharp breaths. He came to her and ran his fingers through her appearing hair and said:
We will make many great memories of our journey through forward-time. Visions we will have forever.
They parted slowly as always. AMI set about making temporary clothing from her weaving of the reeds and the cords. She wove long flat pieces and tied them around with the sashes. The pieces hung over their shoulders down to below their knees. They looked so much like a kilt with different colours. She wove basket-like hats with straps under the chin. She just seemed to know exactly what to do.
Meanwhile BOY set to the task. He went to the place where he knew such plants grew. They would not give easy. These plants were very strong with long fibrous stems. He decided to bend them down against a rock and hammer them with his club until they broke free. He now had long stalks of fiber. These fibers had great strength and were not easy to break. The cross-section showed three layers with a hollow in the middle. He tied the smashed ends of the plants together to encourage new growth on the remaining plants. Then he broke the flowering golden clusters off the tops of stems and placed them in a woven basket.
Now he dug a low trench in the open field near the swampy area and laid the stalks in a row and on top of each other in the wet trench. He brought water to pour over them and left them in the trench and went on to the garden.
6_THE TURNING
BOY said;
We must turn the soil for growth, and add emergents and water for our plants to prosper.
He then set about plotting out their garden. He knew the soil must be turned and broken down for the roots to grow deeper. I could sense his thinking.
He knew the soil must contain emergents, for the plants to grow up. He knew the soil must hold water for roots to feed the emergents to the plants. He found the best garden spot near the fig tree and set to prepare it.
AMI came out and stood in front of BOY with her new lid on. She posed with one hand on her hip and wistfully handed BOY his new lid. He held it as he smiled. He looked at the lid and then at AMI. He looked deep inside her and said,
AMI, my darling, this is the most beautiful lid I shall ever see. You are a master of craft, and look, it fits perfectly. Your lid is of craft and fits your special being to me.
AMI leapt up and kissed his nose. She then hugged his neck and hung there. She pressed her nose against his nose and brought her lips just a finger away from his lips. Lips parting and deep breathing. She felt a shiver travelling up her spine. BOY’s heart jumped. They felt a very special joy with each other. But, they could not dally. They had much to do. They gathered whatever they could use to break down the soil. The long sharp bones in the cave worked best. They did not want to destroy their knives but they could use them for prying. Then they both hacked away at the soil with their bone tools and club/axe. They broke up the soil. They removed rocks and made a perimeter around the garden with them. AMI said;
We can make emergents for the soil if we throw all the uprooted plants upside down in a pile and let them turn back to parts. The soil breakers will help our soil and the breakers can also be food.
They removed all plants from the soil and shook the roots to get the best soils and worms for their garden. Each worm was a blessing. They put them in their fresh diggings for them to break down the soil even more. Occasionally they would squeeze and clean off a large fat juicy worm and eat it.
It was hard work with beads of bwa rolling down their faces. AMI went back repeatedly for gourds of water. They would rest and then go, rest and then go. They went around areas with big roots and chopped away at solid lumps. They worked the soil with their tools and their hands. This was tough going. Soon they started to show good soil that held moisture and also drained well. They must continue. They had prepared much. They could not let up.
7_THE LONG TOOTH
A little breeze passed over the field as BOY heard some branches break inside the forest edge. Coo quickly made loud noises and flew to where the breaking sounds came from.
BOY looked up and leapt for his spear. AMI ran to grab hers. They gathered together on the garden mound they had just made. Could there be danger lurking nearby?
With hearts pounding, there was an eerie silence all around. Then instantly, out of the woods a large lion-like carnivore jumped into the field. It wasted no time as it raced straight toward them and was closing fast. It was as long as BOY with a great long tail flashing in its wake. It had two long pointed teeth overhanging its jaw and it had claws from its feet. It looked like a very large lion with extra-long teeth to me. It was a terrifying sight. BOY yelled,
It is the Long-tooth. Stand fast to fill any gaps in our defence. Strike straight and return. Hold your spear hard.
AMI shook and held tight to her spear. Just a body length away the Long-tooth stopped. It snarled and swiped at their spears. Each time it swiped one spear away, the other spear replaced it. Their spears jabbed and thrust at the Long tooth.
The beast circled around them looking for a break. It growled and snarled with terrifying fangs. It would certainly make meals of them. They held close together with their spear points to the Long-tooth. They screamed and yelled at it. Coo flew at it and tried to divert it away. BOY yelled to Oink to run for the cave.

Then suddenly the beast raised its huge front claws and jumped around BOY toward AMI. AMI held fast. The spear missed the center. The spear slipped and went deep into the Long-tooth’s shoulder. The huge beast’s weight forced the back of AMI’s spear into the ground and she landed on her back. The impact drove BOY backward. The beast used its free arm to claw at AMI.
BOY jumped up and thrust his spear into the beast’s chest. He then drew his knife and dove under the beast between it and AMI. He pushed back on the Long-tooth’s outstretched jaw and plunged his knife into the beast’s neck.
He turned the knife inside, then withdrew and plunged it in again. The beast roiled and tossed its head and threw claws everywhere. It gnashed with its teeth and screamed in pain. Blood seeped out from its mouth and from the knife wounds. The beast crumbled. Its eyes rolled and it collapsed on top of them both. BOY heaved and rolled it off to the side and quickly moved AMI away. He cried out,
8_THE WOUNDS
Oh AMI, AMI you are safe. Let me see to your wounds. The slice on your shoulder is deep and has opened the inside. I will clean it with the moist inside of the leaf of the shiny plant. Then I will bring it together with the small curved bones and tie it that way. We will keep your wound covered until your skin has reformed.
They checked their wounds. A large gash on AMI’s shoulder and cuts over BOY’s head. A few gashes here and there. They would deal with them at home. They had the plant to stop the blood flow. AMI pinched the sides of the gash together and held them tight to stop blood flow.
BOY draped AMI onto his back. He held onto her legs as she hung on his back. AMI carried the spears.
Back at the cave they washed their wounds and folded the insides of a fleshy leaf over the wounds to protect and keep entropy away. BOY took tiny curved bones from the bone pile. He boiled the water and threw the tiny bones in to boil. BOY sat AMI on the log and said;
I will feel the pain as you do, as I mend your wound.
He then pierced AMI’s skin on each side of the wound with the sharp curved bones to pull the sides together. He joined the bones with thin cord. He then covered the wound with honey. She grimaced and then smiled:
It is only physical pain. It cannot harm my Vision.
They had no time to think of events. Things happened so rapidly and out of nowhere. They were just now able to realize the shock. They could have been eaten alive. They defended their lives. This they knew could happen. When they walked back to the field they stood over the Long-tooth in silence. They had killed an animal and it could happen again. She shuddered with worry. BOY calmly said,
9_THE BENEFITS
The codes have provided us the means to protect ourselves when we must do so. We must thank the Long tooth for its life and for its benefit to us.
All animals we eat, has been eaten before. It is the chain of life that brings us to be. We will use all parts of need.
They knew that this large animal could provide much needed resources. The skin could provide warmth as a blanket for their bed. They would have to skin it and treat it with bwa to be usable. The bones could provide tools and some nourishment from the bone’s insides. The rest could provide much needed food and salt. BOY said,
We must lift the Long-tooth high off the ground and take of its parts. We thank the Long-tooth for its life giving parts.
There was another moment of silence. They knew they must take of its parts to provide what they need. They removed the soil and together turned the beast on its side.= Then they lifted the Long-tooth onto its back with its head and back higher than the rest. They strapped its head and front legs with cords and hoisted it up the branches of a tall tree near the outside of the garden. It hung from the tree. They wondered how to cut it up. BOY said;
AMI, please run back and bring some very hot water, and a basket of charcoal from the fire.
BOY sterilized his knife in the hot water when she returned. He gulped as he first cut away the gender parts. He then entered its lower torso near its pore with his knife and drew it straight up to the neck to open the inside. They both drew back and fell to the ground. The inside smell was intense. AMI turned away then gagged and threw up. BOY held his hands over his face as he also backed away. They returned slowly holding their breath. They had to remove the insides of the Long-tooth and he carefully cut them away. They loaded some parts into a basket to bring to the cave and buried the rest. They left the fur on the Long-tooth and lifted it high in the tree.
There were only a few partitions left to their day. They would leave things where they were and return next rise.
10_THE HAIR
Another day had passed. They rested as Big-light dwindled away. The night was calm and Oink came to sleep with them. AMI cooed and whispered to BOY:
Your hair is growing. It is long enough to grab a hold of with my fingers. It is longest on your head and your bottom face. The hair from your chest and pits are also coming out darker. These will help keep you warm in cooler weather.
BOY answered her;
Your hair is growing longest on your head and very little on your body. You will need warmer clothes than me to keep warm in such weather. We are so fortunate to possess the Wisdom-of-Vision to have helped us so far. Look our claws are also growing longer. Do we cut or let them grow?
They had survived another pass, the Horus pass, and defeated a vicious predator. They ate a little then stretched and reached time out. They slept deeply wrapped in each other. I sensed their dreams that night were mixed with both fear and confidence. They had shown great valor this incredible day.
The adventure continues in The Love Day What other dangers lie ahead?
